Scent of Africa

Scent of Africa is the haute perfumery house born in Ghana to tell the story of the identity, culture and extraordinary olfactory richness of the African continent. Founded by Tanal Ghandour, it is the first Fine Fragrance House made in Ghana and creates its fragrances by highlighting raw materials sourced from different regions of Africa, from Egyptian Jasmine to Madagascar Ylang Ylang, from Ethiopian Myrrh to Somali Incense.

At the heart of the brand is the Eternal Legends collection, inspired by deities, myths and legendary figures from African cultures. Each fragrance transforms a story into a contemporary olfactory identity, through compositions created by internationally renowned perfumers and produced in Ghana, where tradition, savoir-faire and modern creativity come together.

The design also expresses this philosophy: the bottle, created by Ghanaian-Swiss designer and architect Kurt Merki Jr., recalls the African continent through its shapes, while the logo is inspired by the Ghanaian Sankofa symbol, linked to the value of one’s roots. Scent of Africa thus offers a deeply African, sophisticated and contemporary vision of niche perfumery, capable of telling the story of the continent through raw materials, legends and culture.
