Vanilla you wouldn't expect: 3 sensual, intense, and unforgettable perfumes

La vaniglia che non ti aspetti: 3 profumi sensuali, intensi e impossibili da dimenticare

Vanilla is one of the most beloved notes in perfumery, but also one of the most misunderstood. It is often associated only with sweet, sugary, almost dessert-like perfumes. In reality, in artistic perfumery, vanilla can completely change its character: it can become spicy, sensual, creamy, dark, woody, or even fresh.

For this reason, we have chosen three very different vanilla fragrances: Vanilla Monsoon, Van Exstasyx, and Vanhera. Three different ways of telling the story of vanilla, designed for those who seek an enveloping, recognizable, and characterful perfume.

Vanilla Monsoon: a tropical, luminous, and unexpected vanilla

Salum Parfums Vanilla Monsoon 50 ml N02602-01

Vanilla Monsoon is an unconventional vanilla. It’s not the classic warm, pastry-like vanilla: here, the sensation is more airy, almost wet, as if the sweetness of vanilla meets the humidity of a tropical rain.

The fragrance opens with orange, cardamom, and monsoon accord, then develops into a softer and more luminous heart with aquatic fruits, vanilla blossoms, and jasmine. The base reveals vanilla, benzoin, and patchouli, which give more depth and persistence to the composition.

It is the right perfume for those who love vanilla but don't want something too heavy. It has a sweet part, of course, but it remains more dynamic, fresh, and distinctive. A vanilla to wear when you want something enveloping but not predictable.

Van Exstasyx: intense, gourmand, and sensual vanilla

Lorenzo Pazzaglia Van Exstasyx 50 ml N01697-02

With Lorenzo Pazzaglia's Van Exstasyx, we are in a completely different territory. Here, vanilla is the absolute protagonist: rich, creamy, intense, almost hypnotic.

The olfactory pyramid is built around different shades of vanilla: Bourbon vanilla, Madagascar vanilla, Tahitian vanilla, and black vanilla in the opening. In the heart, we still find vanilla, along with white flowers and caramel, while the base adds depth with oud, tonka bean, vanilla pod, and black vanilla.

It is a fragrance for those who want to be noticed. Sweet, yes, but not banal: the caramel makes it gourmand, the white flowers give it a more sensual part, and the oud in the base prevents it from becoming too simple. It is a full, warm, enveloping vanilla, perfect for those seeking sillage and presence.

Vanhera: dark, spicy, and woody vanilla

Laboratorio Olfattivo Vanhera 100 ml N01549-02

Vanhera by Laboratorio Olfattivo is probably the most mature and intriguing of the three. Here, vanilla is not depicted in a soft and reassuring way, but is "dirtied" by spices, woods, and amber.

It opens with bergamot, cardamom, Sichuan pepper, and pink pepper, then moves into a warm and material heart of sandalwood, cashmere wood, and cinnamon. The base is built on vanilla absolute, Karmawood, Timbersilk, amber, and musk.

Vanhera is ideal for those who love vanilla but don't want a too-sweet perfume. It is drier, spicier, more elegant, with an almost mysterious character. Vanilla is present, you can smell it, but it never comes across as childish: it remains deep, warm, and sophisticated.

Which to choose?

Choose Vanilla Monsoon if you want a more luminous, modern, and distinctive vanilla, with an almost tropical and aquatic nuance.

Choose Van Exstasyx if you are looking for an intense, gourmand, sensual, and very present vanilla on the skin.

Choose Vanhera if you prefer a spicier, woody, mature, and less sweet vanilla.

Three vanilla perfumes, three completely different characters. Because vanilla, when well treated, is never just sweet: it can be seduction, elegance, warmth, mystery, and personality.
